Rainy Days and Mondays....

It's Day #3 of grey skies, dampness and yuck! So thought I'd post my STR Rare Gems socks finished last March.

I always take two projects to knit when we're traveling. This was the sock pair I used as traveling knitting to Texas last Spring. The second sock became a FO outside Austin while visiting daughter Beth and family. They're photographed in Blake's blooming pear tree the first week of March. Beth really liked the pair, so they were gifted to her.

The STR Rare Gems colorway is not really a colorway....Rare Gems are the BMFA's 'mistakes', so no two skeins are necessarily alike. I knit a 2x2 rib at the top, the legs are knit 4 purl 2 rib all on 0 dpn's.

We'll just skip over yucky winter weather and go straight to Spring happy dances, OK?

Hey, if you can control the weather like that, will you teach me?

I can't wait for this spring's trip. The one that's going to route through OKC, right??

Hey, hey - not so fast!! some of us happen to enjoy Fall and Winter weather and all it brings...the reason we do a lot of our fiber stuff. (chuckle)

...and some of is are desert rats who had to leave the desert but that doesn't change the temperature gauge!...and summer doesn't hinder me from wool working, either! but then, we always knew such things about me....

Doesn't stop me either, but I really get more in the groove w/fire burning, soup cooking, etc. than when it's 110 deg and the reefer is running. That said freshly spun skeins surely do dry quickly then.

This desert rat likes a little white stuff once in awhile, but would not like cold all day and night.Know your color way is the fall tones and this should get the creative flowing.

Now on to the subject of the picture. Socks wanted and given to someone else. It is great when someones likes what was made. Heard and read to many stories of the disappearing gift.
